Great story to start the week.
I am in the business of “people” — I love to hear their stories, I love to help others… I love to interact.
I travel a lot. This last weekend I was in MO cheering on B’s baseball team at districts … it was tense. There were “one” run wins and losses —- storms all over the place. 😖 (tornado in saint louis-)
The first morning at the hotel, I met these two ladies. They were cleaning our 8th floor (one of my fave numbers) with cart number 11 (another fave number!)
I speak. I ask how they are and how their morning is going. They share and tell me they’ve worked together different places for 5 years. They are lovely people. When they ask where I’m headed I tell them i’m headed out to watch baseball playoffs post season. They said “oh nice, let us pray for your son. We will pray for their team!” I thought that was so sweet. They got the names of the team and B … we talked a little more and I told them it was such a pleasure to meet them both. I loves their light and encouragement … they said likewise! I told them to keep SHINING and making a difference in the world. (We all have that option. ✨✨😊) They agreed.
The next day, as I was heading out I thought geesh, I loved the energy of those two and they appeared from nowhere… maybe they were just angels to calm and encourage. (I wondered if I would see them again!)
As I filled up a cup with ice, there they were! Grinning big. I said, “Oh ladies, I wondered if you were even real! You really brought such great energy and hope to my morning!! I told them our team WON —- B had a great day… we even had a bad 2 hour storm delay in the middle of the game!” — they smiled and said “we already know.” They had followed up and knew all of it, and they said we prayed for the storms, for safety and a win!! … They said, we have today’s game and your son lifted in our prayers. Success, safety and health… ♡ my eyes seriously filled with tears … they said we are your “Angels in the outfield today!” 😇
I wanted to buy them coffee. Talk more… find out about their lives, but I had to rush! I hugged them and told them the world needs their love and light. What an honor it was to meet them —- and as I walked off one told me she had written her first book too and had it published! She said more will come, because she loves to write! As soon as I jumped in the car I jotted down her name and the book title.
At the first break, I ordered her first penned book… I grinned so big when it arrived today! I can’t wait to read it.
I hope that we all never forget that we can shine and change lives ANY and EVERY place we go. Any job, any travel, any place or time a simple smile and genuine kindness is such a remarkable trait. ✨✨
—- PS, The team played like champs and they pulled it together to WIN districts … Not super surprised — I felt calm and believed they could do it, possibly because I knew there were a couple of Missouri angels in the midst. 💙
